When you go to these beloved amusement parks, you enter a new world\u2014both physically and psychologically. You become a part of that world, and your feelings are also affected. You may feel younger, lighter, and more spontaneous as you recapture some of the naturalness and fun-loving nature of a child.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">For adults, new entertainment and educational experiences are now available through immersive design. In your own community, you may discover:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><b>Virtual Reality:\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>When you are in\u00a0an artificial environment that is created with software and presented in such a way that you suspend belief and accept it as a real environment (it feels real). Your actions partly control what happens and you become immersed in the environment.\u00a0\u00a0On a computer,virtual reality\u00a0is primarily experienced through two of the five senses: sight and sound.\u00a0\u00a0Applications include games, sports, therapy, medicine, and business.<b><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><b>Escape Rooms:\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>When you are in a room in which you need to solve a mystery or puzzle to escape and have a time limit to find the key to get out.\u00a0\u00a0In one scary and exciting variation, you are in the \u201cBasement\u201d and are trapped with a serial killer; you have to escape. In another, \u201cDog Room,\u201d You are a dog and there are giant dog bowls and other dog things everywhere.<b><\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><b>*Immersive Theatre:\u00a0\u00a0<\/b>These experiences can be group or one-on-one in which you go beyond merely listening to a story and actually engage with the actors as you become part of the story. An interesting and funny one is called \u201cRed Flag\u201d in which you are on a \u201cthe worst date\u201d possible with an actor who plays the role of your date.\u00a0\u00a0You show up to a pre-selected venue (bar or restaurant) and meet the \u201cdate.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0It\u2019s a ticketed show (you pay a price) and is scripted, but the actor is so skilled that whatever you say, they turn it back to the script and make it into \u201cthe bad day they\u2019re having.\u201d Funny and sometimes disturbing, this interesting experience can enlighten and educate you, according to Noah Nelson, immerse experience expert.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">We\u2019re moving from a society that has simply absorbed entertainment and information to one that, through immersive technology, is engaging with environments and situations in a very personal and intimate way.
